About Me

My work consists of pencil drawings, pastel landscapes and other works on paper. I have exhibited and sold my art throughout the Pacific Northwest for three decades.

My pencil technique started in my first college art class. When given the assignment of studying and experimenting with the style of a favorite master, I chose the pencil and chalk drawings of Michelangelo.

I strive for simplicity in both my pencil drawings and my pastel landscapes which are influenced by George Inness and other masters of atmospheric light.

In June of 2020, I dug my watercolors out of storage and began painting again (after 40 years of drawing). Being limited to the Covid stay-at-home rules, I choose flowers and plants that I saw on walks and bike rides around the neighborhood. A few of my favorite hand-made botanical cards are in my gallery.

Stay well,
Scott
